South-east of Rome, the Aqueduct Park offers one of the most distinctive landscapes of the Roman countryside: enormous ancient aqueduct arches cross open fields with the city in the distance. Remains of several Roman and Papal-era aqueducts create a surprisingly rural setting just a few kilometres from central Rome. It is ideal for a walk, bike ride or unusual sunset.
