Come and choose your book or toy at a bargain price. There is something for both adults and children. You will find detective stories, novels, cookbooks, poetry, foreign-language literature, fairy tales, encyclopedias for children… all at symbolic prices.
Visit the well-known YMCA building in Bratislava on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The last Saturday in November will be dedicated to sustainability, book adventures, and above all, children!
This time, the book and toy exchange from children for children will be complemented by the traditional book exchange of the Old Town Library, a creative workshop from the Goethe-Institut, and interactive themed readings for children from RC Prešporkovo.
📚 BOOK EXCHANGE
Come and add to your personal book collection! At the Old Town Library stand, you will find a wealth of great fiction, art literature, and a wide selection of children’s books. Admission is free.
From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the foyer on the first floor.
🧸 CHILDREN’S BOOK AND TOY EXCHANGE
Buy Christmas gifts in advance at the children’s book and toy exchange. Or do you have toys or books at home that your children no longer use? Tidy up your children’s room and give unused things a second chance! We invite all fans of sustainability to the children’s exchange, where they can try out what it’s like to trade and earn their first money at the same time. Children can also sell their own handmade products.
How will the exchange work?
– Children will bring a blanket (or table, suitcase) with them, where they will display their goods.
– Prices should be symbolic – the recommended maximum price is €6 (worthless items are not suitable).
– Things that do not sell should be taken away or donated to other children.
– We recommend bringing, for example, folding tables to sit on. Tables will be available for the fastest.
– Only children can sell.
– No clothing, shoes or food is sold.
– We recommend bringing small coins to spend.
– Participation in the exchange is free.
What will children learn at the exchange?
how to recycle toys and books,
how trading and money work,
how to communicate with customers and present your “stand”.
From 10:00 to 13:00 in the premises of MMC – Majestic Music Club on the 1st floor.
