Bratislava’s Summer of Culture will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. That’s why an exceptional program and entertainment awaits you all summer long.
For half a century, it has been making summer in the capital exceptional – concerts, theaters, films, discussions, exhibitions, sports and children’s programs flourish throughout Bratislava.
From Partizánská lúka, through Janko Kráľa Park, Mestské hradby, Klarisky to Mičurin and Náměstie slobody – culture lives not only in the center, but also in unconventional and newly discovered places in cooperation with city districts and organizations.
The cultural scene at Sada Janka Kráľa will welcome children to ten theater performances on Sunday mornings. The cultural and creative space at Biela ulica 6 will be transformed into a green oasis, whose interior will showcase the work of young artists. Concerts with top artists will offer musical events such as the J. K. Mertz Guitar Festival, Domus & Hortus Artis, Viva Musica!, and Tribute to Freedom. The traditional Summer Shakespeare Festival will also take place.
The symbolic conclusion of the 72-day festival will also be spectacular – not only in terms of the size of the performing musical ensembles, but especially in terms of the program. On Saturday, August 30, you can look forward to a performance by SĽUK, and Sunday afternoon will feature a performance by the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra.
Until the end of September, there will be open-air dancing on Freedom Square thanks to the Dance by the Fountain project.

The space in the Janka Kráľa Park provides barrier-free access. Performances with music and spoken word are partially suitable for the blind and visually impaired.

House of Music

The House of Music will once again host a chamber evening full of original musical connections. Listen to cello, guitar and piano in unconventional combinations, the premiere of a new CD and works by Slovak composers.
Viva Musica! festival

The Viva Musica! festival will once again make Bratislava resound – you can look forward to world artists, Slovak premieres, garden concerts and the #NextGeneration series.
Summer Shakespeare Festival
6. 7. – 5. 8. 2025 / Bratislava Castle Courtyard
The largest open air festival dedicated to Shakespeare will celebrate its 25th year in Bratislava. You can look forward to the premiere of As You Like It, the productions of Hamlet, The Taming of the Shrew, The Comedy of Errors and the finale of Twelfth Night. There will also be a Shakespeare with Children project.
The creative and cultural space in the heart of the city is starting its summer vibe on June 6th – and then on selected Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until September. There will be exhibitions, workshops, acoustic concerts, quizzes and DJ sets. In short, chill, fun and culture under one roof.
This year also brings something new:
Italian tastings in the format of workshops, where you will learn (almost) everything about Italian culture
OÁZA cinema – film screenings with a relaxed atmosphere in our courtyard
