Due to the reconstruction of the Arena Theatre building, the performance DRACULA will be performed on the stage of the Pavel Orsaght Hviezdoslav Theatre (DPOH).
The legendary Dracula has seen many book, film, television and theatre adaptations. Arena Theatre’s production pays homage to the iconic 1931 black and white film, starring the iconic Béla Lugosi, and delivers a unique visual experience.
Count Dracula moves from his mansion in Transylvania to Carfax Abbey near London. An attractive gentleman, he infiltrates high society, making contact with Dr Seward, but especially with his daughter, young Mina and her friend Lucy. By day he rests in the land he has brought from his native Romania and by night he goes hunting. For without blood he will not survive and will be just a vegetating old man. The power of Dracula is great and that is why Abraham Van Helsing, an expert in fighting the undead, i.e. vampires, is summoned to Carfax.
WARNING: The smoke used in the production is water vapour based, which is non-hazardous and does not cause respiratory problems.
