From November 19 to 21, 2026, the renowned jazz club Kunstfabrik Schlot in Berlin-Mitte will once again transform into a vibrant hub for contemporary, genre-defying jazz culture.
In 2026, the rejazz festival celebrates its seventh edition. Once again, the festival focuses on artistic independence, visionary bandleaders, and the musical dialogue between the local Berlin scene and top international talent.
What’s on the program?
Day 1 – Thursday, November 19, 2026
The festival kicks off with Israeli harmonica virtuoso Ariel Bart and her trio. Venturing into new musical territory, they blend modern jazz with classical and Middle Eastern influences to create dense, almost cinematic soundscapes.
Following this, the Silke Eberhard Trio celebrates its impressive 20th anniversary. Centered around the Berlin Jazz Prize winner, the trio has shaped the German jazz landscape for two decades with its sharp contours, improvisational intensity, and an intuitive, deep-seated rapport.
Day 2 – Friday, November 20, 2026
Dutch saxophonist Kika Sprangers will enchant the audience with her project “river, river,” in which a flowing river serves as a metaphor for human life—at times gentle, at others surging in wild currents.
In contrast, there is Trio Y, led by U.S. synthesizer artist Liz Kosack. Their excursions—ranging from space jazz to free rock ’n’ roll—break down all boundaries between analog and digital music.
Day 3 – Saturday, November 21, 2026
Swiss harpist Julie Campiche opens the evening solo with her project “Unspoken,” in which she employs electronic effects and spoken-word elements to give a voice to untold stories. For the grand finale, the formidable piano powerhouse Aki Takase (recipient of the German Jazz Prize) joins forces with exceptional turntablist DJ Illvibe (of the band Seeed) and dancer Kofie da Vibe. The result is an unpredictable, explosive, multidisciplinary work of art—a fusion of jazz, club vibes, and physical expression.
The rejazz festival holds a unique position in the Berlin scene, intentionally placing the spotlight on outstanding female musicians and bandleaders. In doing so, the event provides a stage for inspiring role models and makes a powerful statement in favor of greater creative diversity within modern jazz.
