Baroque Days

From November 7 to 27, 2026, the Berlin State Opera (Staatsoper Unter den Linden) will once again transform into a hub for Baroque music. The 2026 Baroque Days span a musical arc from the early decades of the opera genre around 1600 to works from the late Baroque period.

The program features high-caliber new productions, significant revivals, and exclusive concerts in the Apollo Hall, showcasing internationally renowned soloists and specialized ensembles.

Opening Concert: *Combattimento* – Love Leading to Death (November 7)

*Lamento mirabile* (November 9): Works by Handel and Ferrandini, featuring Roberta Mameli and members of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. Monteverdi a solo (November 15): Featuring countertenor Raffaele Pe and the ensemble La Lira di Orfeo.

Wonder Women (November 17): Works by Barbara Strozzi, Francesca Caccini, and others, featuring Luciana Mancini and L’Arpeggiata.
