from August 18 to October 25, 2026

Kúzlo tušu Danubiana

On August 18, the Danubiana Museum will present a new exhibition – FAN XUEYI – The Magic of Ink / 水墨之境

Traditional Chinese ink painting is an art in which image, poetry and philosophy meet. The exhibition The Magic of Ink presents the work of Chinese artist Fan Xueyi, who, through fine layers of ink, explores the relationship between man and nature, emptiness and fullness, time and space. Her works follow the centuries-old tradition of literary painting, but at the same time bring a personal statement about memory, landscape and inner world.

Fan Xueyi (*1969) is one of the significant figures of the contemporary Chinese art scene. In his work, he combines painting, poetry and calligraphic thinking, searching for the quiet beauty and spiritual dimension hidden in the simplicity of the ink gesture.

The exhibition is curated by Wolfram Anders.

2. Milan Bočkay: Tail Light (Retrospective)

from September 5 to November 1, 2026

Milan Bočkay výstava

Milan Bočkay is one of the leading figures in Slovak painting and the creator of a distinctive style of analytical painting based on the principle of trompe l’oeil—optical illusion. His work explores the boundaries between reality and fiction, painting and drawing, surface and space, and illusion and the “illusion of illusion.” This retrospective exhibition presents his work in a broader context and explores the artistic concept that Bočkay develops with his characteristic precision, humor, and intellectual playfulness.

3. Patrícia Koyšová: Free Fall

from September 5 to November 1, 2026

Patrícia Koyšová výstava

The exhibition presents a new, significantly more personal phase in the artist’s work. In it, Koyšová departs from her previous working methods and turns to ropes dipped in paint, which she uses to create large-format canvases. This physical and intuitive creative process becomes a record of energy, emotion, and personal experience, bringing her work closer to the principles of action art.
