From April 18 to 21, the Városliget Ice Rink in Budapest will host this year’s Easter Festival, offering exciting programs for the entire family. Concerts, children’s performances, spectacular shows, amusement park rides, and culinary specialties await visitors – and best of all, admission is free!
One of the most colorful events of the spring break will take place at the iconic venue in Budapest’s City Park, where the festive buzz will go on non-stop for four days. The event’s goal is to offer entertainment for all ages, whether it’s a kids’ show, folk dance, live concert, or simply enjoying some delicious bites along the food stalls.
Programs start daily at 11 a.m. and continue until the evening. The fun kicks off on Friday with a children’s concert by the Buborék band, followed by a fairy tale play, illusion show, and themed performances inspired by Frozen and Marvel. The evening wraps up with a concert by Éberkóma and a party set by DJ Dominique.
Saturday brings classic tales, live music, and folk dance. After the performance of The Little Rooster’s Diamond Halfpenny, Tinkerbell, Ricsi Herczog, Maestro Boogie, and Jolly take the stage. The day closes with an emotional concert by Mihályfi Luca.
Sunday begins with the story of a shepherd who can speak with animals, and later in the day, Star Wars fans are in for a treat. Kids will be entertained by the BumBum Band, while adults can enjoy performances by Gáspár Laci and the Brillantin Band.
Easter Monday will keep the energy high with performances by Clown Ricsi, the Alma Band, and the RHS DJ Team – ending the festival with a full-on retro-style Easter “sprinkling” party.
The spacious Ice Rink is the perfect venue for such a large-scale event, offering a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere alongside a festival-like vibe. Traditional Easter elements – bunnies, egg hunts, and spring decorations – are blended with modern flair, creating a joyful experience for both nostalgia seekers and fans of spectacular shows.
The program features several well-known performers, such as DJ Dominique, Jolly, Gáspár Laci, and the Alma Band – guaranteeing a great time. But kids aren’t forgotten either: daily fairy tale plays and musical programs ensure that families can spend an entire day enjoying the event.
More than just entertainment, the festival is about community: one of the most beautiful messages of the Easter season is being together, sharing joy, and welcoming the renewal of spring. The fairground rides, market-style vendors, and the scent of delicious food and hot drinks all help visitors escape everyday life.
The venue is easily accessible by both public transportation and car. Its location near City Park also makes it ideal for combining the program with a longer walk or picnic. With different performers and a new vibe each day, it’s worth returning multiple times during the four-day festival.
