Pop Fest Vienna

From July 24 to 27, Karlsplatz will once again transform into a major stage: Popfest Wien brings four days of the most exciting acts from Austria’s contemporary pop, indie, hip-hop, and electronic scenes directly into the heart of the city. The entire festival program is free to attend, making it perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy music spontaneously and without any hassle.

The main venue is the open-air lake stage in front of Karlskirche, but many other locations—such as the Wien Museum, the courtyard of TU Wien, Club U, and Café Kunsthalle—also host concerts, talks, and workshops. Among the featured performers are Christina Stürmer, Eli Preiss, Crack Ignaz & LGoony, OSKA, and Kreisky, alongside many emerging talents and fresh voices.

But Popfest is more than just music: during the “Popfest Sessions” on Friday and Saturday at the Wien Museum, visitors can dive into discussions and conversations about current topics in the music scene. The atmosphere is relaxed and the program diverse—offering musical experiences and cozy social settings, from the grassy lawns by the water to the shaded courtyards.

The festival is designed for all age groups and invites everyone to discover the richness of Austrian music without ticket barriers—whether during the day or in the evening, under the open sky or in atmospheric clubs.
