Belle and Sebastian

After spending much of his late 80s and early 90s indoors with chronic fatigue syndrome, Stuart Murdoch was finally ready to give the world his music. Together with a couple of friends from university, he decided to record his debut album ‘Tigermilk’ (1996). The group named themselves Belle and Sebastian and the rest, as they say, is history. The Scottish band went on to become one of the best, longest-running and most beloved indie pop acts in history. With their love of 60’s chamber pop, northern soul, Orange Juice and The Smiths, Belle and Sebastian have continued to deliver the most intimate, fragile and delicate music and will forever remain an alternative to the blatantly wide-legged. Now we can announce that Belle and Sebastian will return to Stockholm for a concert at Cirkus on July 2!

Their debut was followed by classics like ‘If You’re Feeling Sinister’ (1996) and ‘The Boy With the Arab Strap’ (1998), but unlike many of their colleagues, their career didn’t stop. Belle & Sebastian have remained true to their love of the craft, their indie ideals and their belief that big emotions don’t have to be contained in big gestures. There have been over 12 studio albums in total, the latest being ‘Late Developers’ (2023).
