This summer’s successful gigs were a great success for both the band and the audience. Now The Soundtrack of Our Lives is gearing up for an extensive tour of Sweden. The premiere takes place in Uppsala on February 15 and the finale takes place at home in Gothenburg just over a month later.
– “We do it because we are obviously needed in this special era of human history,” says the band’s singer Ebbot Lundberg.

When one of Sweden’s greatest rock bands of all time reunited last summer for three festival gigs – as well as a warm-up night at Pustervik and a discharge at Garaget in Hammenhög – the response was overwhelming. From the opening “Mantra Slider” to the closing “The Passover” and in between a treasure of songs few can match, the concerts developed into a triumph that deserves to be seen by more people.

Now it is clear that this will happen.

Starting at Katalin in Uppsala on February 15th, The Soundtrack of Our Lives will embark on a major tour of Sweden, including a stop in Oslo.
– “We do it because we are obviously needed in this special era of human history,” says the band’s singer Ebbot Lundberg about the tour.

The Soundtrack of Our Lives formed in Gothenburg in the mid-90s as a sort of supergroup with members from Union Carbide Productions, Nymphet Noodlers, Whipped Cream and Mindjive. The 1996 single “Instant Repeater ’99” became a huge hit and the debut album “Welcome to the Infant Freebase” earned the band a Grammy for Newcomer of the Year. Soon The Soundtrack of Our Lives’ reputation grew beyond the country’s borders, not least because the Gallagher brothers of Oasis took a liking to them and took Soundtrack on tour. Their third album ‘Behind the Music’ led to a minor breakthrough in the US and in 2002 they were nominated for a Grammy in the Alternative Rock category. Last year the band – Ebbot Lundberg (vocals), Ian Person (guitar), Mattias Bärjed (guitar), Martin Hederos (keyboards), Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm (bass) and Fredrik Sandsten (drums) – were inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame and earlier this year they played their first gigs together in over ten years.
