Avishai Cohen is one of the most celebrated bassists of recent decades. Swinging drive in wide-ranging melodic lines, sophisticated rhythms and soloist elegance are all part of Cohen’s musical formula. In the trio format, Cohen presents music from the seminal album ‘Shifting Sands’.
An evening with Avishai Cohen and his musicians is always something special. The stage is undoubtedly a place where Cohen feels at home, and the Israeli bassist has become a crowd pleaser of great proportions.
With a background in Danilo Perez, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Chick Corea, Avishai Cohen has made a name for himself with his own groups for discovering and promoting young talented musicians. The last time Cohen visited Sweden, he and his trio gave an acclaimed concert at Skeppsholmen in Stockholm in the summer of 2022. This fall, he will return to Sweden with a new trio and perform at Berwaldhallen during the Stockholm Jazz Festival.
