Rancid

California-based Rancid have been a vibrant punk rock band for over a quarter of a century and next year they’re heading out on a European tour! They released their first album ‘Rancid’ back in 1993 and have since released several acclaimed albums, most recently ‘Trouble Maker’ in 2017. On Saturday, June 10, 2023, Rancid gives a long-awaited concert at Annexet in Stockholm!

Back in 1991, after their much-loved and influential first band Operation Ivy disbanded, founding members Tim Armstrong (vocals, guitar) and Matt Freeman (bass, vocals) decided to do the impossible – start an even better band. Shortly after their debut album, Lars Frederiksen (vocals, guitar) joined, resulting in the acclaimed 1994 album ‘Let’s Go’.

The following year, the classic platinum-selling album “…And Out Come The Wolves” was released. The follow-up was the even more ambitious “Life Won’t Wait” from 1998 and in 2000 they released another self-titled album, to see if anyone was paying attention. After 2003’s “Indestructible”, Branden Steineckert (drums) joined to strengthen Rancid’s lineup. They subsequently released the albums “Let The Dominos Fall” (2009), “Honor Is All We Know” (2014) and finally “Trouble Maker” (2017).

Through it all, Rancid has remained extremely independent, never losing loyalty to society or each other. Their music tackles political and social issues, while balancing personal stories of love, loss and heartbreak with attitude. Rancid provides its listeners with a community where everyone can belong. By carrying on the traditions and spirit of the original punk rock bands that came before them, Rancid has become a myth and inspiration for the punk bands that have followed.
