Archipelago Boat Day in Stockholm

Wondering how to spend evenings during week? Come celebrate Archipelago Boat Day with fleet of streamers and other ships! Enjoy the view, sailing and journey to island Vaxholm!

Now we celebrate Archipelago Boat Day again – Wednesday 8 June 2022!

The historic archipelago boats will leave Strömkajen at 18:15 for a convoy out to Vaxholm where the town will meet up with a market and party on the quay, returning to Strömkajen at about 23.00

Tickets will also be sold at Strömkajen on 8 June.

This year it is also possible to travel from Vaxholm with the steam boat Tärnan or with Syreni for a tour to meet up with the convoy. Departure from Vaxholm at 18.30

From 17.30 passengers are welcome to board the ships at Strömkajen in Stockholm.
At 18.15 hrs.
All steamships traditionally sound the steam whistles, after which the ships leave Strömkajen to head for Vaxholm.
19.30-19.45
The ships arrive in a convoy at Vaxholm.
19.00-22.00
In Vaxholm market with sale of local products, herring, sausages, ice cream and drinks. Musical entertainment and activities on the quay and Söderhamnsplan. Shops in Vaxholm are open from 20.50-21.10
21.00
Flag ceremony at the flag lowering ceremony at Söderhamnsplan.
21.25
The steamships blow for departure.
21.30
Steamers Storskär, Norrskär, Blidösund and Mariefred and m/s Östanå I depart for Stockholm. m/s Syreni departs for Stavsnäs through the middle archipelago.
21.45
The last ship in the Archipelago Boat Day, m/s Västan, departs from Vaxholm.
In Stockholm, the steamship Mariefred calls at Skeppsbrokajen, the other ships go to their regular berths in Stockholm.
The steamships Storskär and Norrskär and m/s Västan return to Strömkajen. Västan also calls at Gåshaga and Hasseludden on the way to Stockholm for possible disembarkation.
Östanå I goes to Nybrokajen.
It is a vessel of choice, steam or motor, for the return trip Vaxholm-Stockholm.
