The Catacombs of San Callixtus are one of the most important underground burial complexes of ancient Rome. Located along the Appian Way, they extend for kilometres beneath the ground and include galleries, burial chambers and ancient crypts, including the tomb of several early Christian popes. Visiting the catacombs offers the chance to descend beneath the city and discover a completely different side of Rome from its famous monuments above ground. We chose them because they provide a more mysterious and immersive experience, ideal for anyone looking to explore the city’s history in an unusual setting.
