His Majesty the Prized Truffle Weekend arrives in Rome Let the heady scent of truffles envelop you too, among appetizers, first courses and local products, in a weekend of celebration among music and truffles of all kinds.
Fun fact: Italy is a top producer of truffles, and you can go foraging for the treasured gold in multiple parts of the country. Used in much of Italian cuisine, deep dive into all things tartufo at the Sagra del Tartufo di Roma festival.
Set up in Tolfa (home to truffles), enjoy a weekend of tastings and dishes cooked with truffles as the star, with stalls also selling truffle-centric products. It’s a vibrant atmosphere as the crowds mingle, music constantly fills the air and the rich smell of truffles waft by! Feel free to chat with local foragers, producers and chefs and get to know more about the delicacy and how it is used in Italian food.
FYI: The mountaintop village is an hour from Rome’s city centre.
