The long-heralded action-adventure comedy The Lost City arrives in theaters on Thursday, April 21! It’s the work of directors Aaron and Adam Nee, who co-wrote the screenplay with Oren Uziel and Dana Fox, based on a book by Seth Gordon. You can look forward to seeing well-known names such as: Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe and Brad Pitt.
Writer Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) writes successful Red Library novels set in the most exotic locations. The fact that she practically doesn’t step foot out of the house is beside the point. Another paradox is the fact that her courtly hero, the charming adventurer Dash, is embodied on the covers of her books by the very impractical dork Alan (Channing Tatum). As a model, he’s masculine, handsome, sexy, but in real life, he can’t seem to transcend his own book shadow, and that’s rather embarrassing. He’d like to do something truly heroic just like the character he embodies on the cover. He gets his chance when a slightly insane billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) kidnaps the writer right in front of him. This man has, after all, taken it into his head that Loretta, in her last book, detailed a journey to the mythical Lost City, which hides a treasure of incalculable value. Before Loretta knows it, she’s sitting on a plane carrying her to an exotic island somewhere in the Atlantic. “Cover boy” Alan decides to rescue his author, but aware of his own limitations, he enlists the help of his personal trainer, a true adventurer (Brad Pitt). Together they manage to free Loretta from the clutches of her captors, but their adventure in the middle of a tropical jungle is far from over. On the contrary, it has just begun. And it’s about to get a hundred times crazier than the ones Loretta recounts in the pages of her bestselling novels.
