URBAN LAND 2021: THE FESTIVAL OF METROPOLITAN CULTURE

Now in its fifth edition, Urban Land returns to the capital, the only event that encompasses art, music, entertainment, sport and urban and street culture.
The festival entirely dedicated to metropolitan culture will take place from 10 to 12 September at the Palacavicchi, Rome.

Three days of artistic experimentation, cultural exchange, sharing and creativity in an innovative and engaging space in which comparison, collaboration, innovation, originality and experience play a fundamental role in spreading the concept of art.

Born around the Tattoo Convention – the beating heart of the event – the project has distinguished itself since its inception by welcoming numerous collateral activities all with the common denominator of Urban and Street culture.

There will be over 350 tattoo artists and more than 400 performers from various disciplines who will give life to the festival.

13,000 square meters of total space, 6,000 of which will be allocated to the Tattoo Zone, within which Italian and international tattoo artists will be available to participants with live performances.

A specialized jury composed of 21 professional judges will award the best creations of the tattoo convention, names of the caliber of: Arianna Fusini, Brigante, Daniele Delli Gatti, Federico Costantini, Francesco Baio, Gino Scuro, Irene Reale, Ivano Natale, Kristina Taylor, Lippo, Lisa Ammer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Marcello Cestra, Marco Galdo, Michael Mazzone, Onny Somboon, Placido, Posco Losco, Simone Pit Chirienti and Stizzo.

In addition to the aforementioned not only Italian excellences but other Special Guests will also be present: Big Sleeps, Boris, Buster Duque, Carlos Rojas and Roman Abrego.

The stages of Urban Land, this year, will be animated by numerous contests, including: the 1st Urban Land Cosplay Contest whose artistic direction will be managed by Sunita Zucca aka “Sunymao” soprano and event organizer known in the field of Cosplay for more than 15 years, during which she created a hundred dresses with which she impersonated the most varied characters that led her to the victory of numerous Cosplay Contests and for having been hired by Mediaset in order to take part in the television program “All Together Now ”, the latter will also make the jury body of the same together with Piero Castiglia founder of Ghostbusters Italia and Carlo Megaman; the 1st Urban Land Exotic Pole and No Rules Pole Dance Battle curated by Angela Novelli and for the second consecutive year after the great success obtained during the fourth edition the Body Painting Competition directed by Francesca Tariciotti, Italian Champion in 2015 and 2016, Second World Place in 2015 and Fourth Place in 2016 in the airbrush category and made in collaboration with Italian Body Painting Festival and Bodypainting’s Friends.

The Street Dance could not be missing with the Crew Contest Choreographic Competition in collaboration with Giovanbattista Russo and the CSEN of Rome and the Art Contest, dedicated to art, to which all artists can join by presenting a 90% complete work whose theme it is that of urban and street culture and in which a poppy must appear, the iconic flower of Urban Land.

Space then to Rap with the Freestyle Rap Ink Contest organized by the unprecedented collaboration between Street Tatami Battle and Triple Fuck which will be interspersed with Project 205 Showcases that will present the latest work by Fetz Darko and the overwhelming Beat Box by Melo Shade.

Numerous Live Shows will be held, during which they will perform: Monica Bertelloni, Terence Rossi and Virginia Tarabella (Pole Sport World Champion 2017 Poland, Italian Pole Sport Champion 2018/2019/2021 and fourth-time participant in the Pole Sport World Championships), known thanks to their artistic and acrobatic performances; Federica La Pondi (Organizer of the official Twerk championships: Italian Twerk Contest and European Twerk Contest; Teacher, Master Coach and competition judge recognized throughout Europe); Mr. Cartoon – Cartoon’s Songs Performer among many others.
In the outdoor area, a JAM made up of 23 Writers led by Bone of the TNT Crew, will give life to their creations on panels where each individual Writer will be free to express their creativity.
In addition to the previously mentioned consolidated JAM by Writers, Street Art is confirmed again. figurative art whose art is now widespread not only throughout Italy, but also in most of Europe, Brazil and Mexico.
Staying on the subject of art, once again, the Museum Area will be set up within which tattoo artists, judges, writers and body painters will exhibit their works together with the same ones that will participate in the Art Contest.

There is a large section dedicated to Urban and Street Sports that will make the experience of those who participate even more overwhelming.
The Streetarts Family will be present, an association that boasts decades of experience in the field of urban street disciplines such as PARKOUR; an important space belongs to Street Bike Culture and BMX. My Fly Zone professionals will perform breathtaking stunts.
The Outdoor area will also be animated by two contests dedicated to Skate coordinated by Tiziano Scialabba: GAME OF SKATE and BEST OF TRICK and by the ASD Young and Tenacious boys, whose goal is to spread the importance of sport for disabled people through basketball.

New for this edition, the presence of Radio Roma, Official Partner of Urban Land Tattoo Expo Rome, with a fixed station that will broadcast live from Urban Land on all its channels and will follow the event day by day.

The Palacavicchi located in Via Ranuccio Bianchi Bandinelli, 130 Rome is easily reachable from the “Grande Raccordo Anulare”, from the A metro station “Anagnina” and from “Ciampino” airport. Tickets for Urban Land 2021 are available both online, through the CiaoTickets electronic ticket office, and at the box office during the days of the event.

Entry will be allowed to individuals with one of the Covid-19 green certifications, a document that demonstrates: anti-Covid vaccination; the recovery from Covid; the negative result of an antigenic or molecular swab. In this regard, a box will be set up outside where you can make a Quick Antigenic Swab in order to allow all those who do not already have the certification to be able to access.
In the most visible places, special signs will also be placed with indications of the behavior to be observed and a QR CODE from which it will be possible to download the documentation relating to the event in order to avoid gatherings.
