Associazione Culturale Sinopie has prepared for you another online event. Take part in ten courses, where you will learn all about one of the most beautiful places in the world. Rome, the eternal city, the city where lead all roads!
When did the history of this ancient city begin? Each of us still from school recalls the legend of Romulus and Remus, twins born to a young princess who, to save them, made them go downstream, where they were found by a she-wolf who took care of them. Eventually, however, Romulus killed Remus and became the first founder of the city. Romulus thus became the first of the seven kings. Later, the Romans drove out the Etruscans, and thus was founded here a republic, during which took place numerous wars. Rome became famous also thanks to the period in which was founded the triumvirate, but in the end, Julius Caesar became the absolute sovereign. After the great Caesar, ascended the throne Augustus, becoming the first Roman emperor. Rome is also associated with other famous emperors, such as the cruel emperor Nero, known for his persecution of Christians, Trajan, Hadrian, or Marcus Aurelius. Republican, Imperial, Medieval, or Popes Rome, all these important periods brought to glory, power, but also many losses to Rome. Later in the Baroque period, Rome with her works or cultures inspired the whole world, and so Napoleon became interested in her, which a few years later led to such an important name, Garibaldi. The history of Rome is very long and incredibly rich. Every single period was part of the city that has a soul.
All about the most important periods of Rome, its personalities, history, culture, and geography, thanks to the Associazione Culturale Sinopie. The course will be conducted by Martina Gatti.
