Raphael, prince of the Renaissance online course by Roma Sparita
The Italian painter and architect Raffaello Sanzio (1483-1520), nicknamed Raphael, is one of the greatest and most representative representatives of the Renaissance. He grew up in Urbina in the company of people interested in art. This city was an important center of cultural life in Italy. He was also sought after for his polite behavior, chosen behavior and willingness to colleagues. Soft, charming and artistically, intellectually and physically very capable, Raffael had a reputation as a fleeting lover. He attracted women and was known for many love relationships. The only lasting relationship was probably with the courtesan of Fornarina. He was the best in describing the theme of female beauty and often painted his Roman mistress Fornarina.

Raffaello Sanzio’s career ended with an untimely death. He died suddenly on April 6, 1520 at the age of 37 after a week of high fever, the cause of which has not been clarified. He wanted to be buried in the Pantheon, an ancient sarcophagus. The artist has had a special relationship with this building since ancient times.
