The concert Sounds of the Mickiewiczian World…. is a musical tale of romanticism expressed through the music of Frederic Chopin. Many historical testimonies prove that Adam Mickiewicz was open and sensitive to Chopin’s music, while Chopin’s Ballades allude to Adam Mickiewicz’s Ballads and Romances with their narrative character and balladic tone. The concert program will include Fryderyk Chopin’s Ballade in F minor, as an expression of reference to Mickiewicz’s work, the Rain Prelude in D flat major, two Nocturnes, Op. 27, evoking a mood of night and mystery, as well as the Andante spianato and the Grande Polonaise in E flat major, Op. 22 – an outstandingly virtuosic work, full of elegance and salon panache.
