Serce moje gram – a concert of theater and film music by Zygmunt Konieczny on the 85th anniversary of his birth.

The concert with fragments of Zygmunt Konieczny’s famous compositions written for theater and film from the latest picture Figurant, directed by Robert Glinski, through Jan Jakub Kolski’s famous films Jasminum and Pornografia to the legendary play with a libretto by Agnieszka Osiecka Śnieżyca is scheduled for October 31, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the S2 Theater Hall of the ICE Krakow Congress Center.

Zygmunt Konieczny is known as the creator of magnificent songs such as Carousel with Madonnas, Tomaszów, Taki pejzaż, performed by the incomparable Ewa Demarczyk, Białe zeszyty and Grajmy Panu made famous by Anna Szałapak. He is also the creator of monumental oratorios, such as Wyspianski according to Konieczny and Litania polska to the words of Father Jan Twardowski, as well as music for feature films (including Dolina Issy, Jańcio Wodnik, Prymas. Three Years from the Millennium), short films (documentaries and animated films), and has written music for many theater and television productions (including Midsummer Night’s Dream, Dziady, Liberation, Master and Margarita, Ascension). He has worked with some of the most prominent directors, including Konrad Swinarski, Andrzej Wajda, Jerzy Jarocki, Tadeusz Łomnicki and Maciej Englert.

This extraordinary concert will feature excerpts of film and theater music from the following films and plays: Figurant dir. Robert Glinski (2022), Kontrapunkt dir. Andrzej Papuzinski (2014), Jasminum dir. Jan Jakub Kolski (2006), Pornografia dir. Jan Jakub Kolski (2003), Snowflake dir. Zygmunt Konieczny (1992), Serce moje gram / Wedding insc. Krzysztof Orzechowski (2001). The works will be presented by Beata Wojciechowska (vocals), Leszek “Hefi” Wiśniowski (bass flute) and the Beethoven Academy Orchestra conducted by Rafał Jacek Delekta.

The concert is organized by the Krakow Cultural Forum, and co-organized by Kraków5020 and the ICE Krakow Congress Center.
