From the 11th to the 15th of August, the Small Market Square will be filled with the aroma and flavour of various dumplings. And all this is due to the annual Pierogi Festival. For foodies and gourmets, many exhibitors await you–cafes and restaurants will serve their signature dishes in a variety of forms. Also, there will be contests for the best dumplings! This is the largest and the most extensive presentation of Polish folk culture as well as arts and crafts in Central and Eastern Europe, creating the perfect conditions for cultivating and preserving traditional handicrafts and folk arts. Main Square will be filled with lots of beautiful works by folk artists including potters, lacemakers, weavers, sculptors, artists who paint on glass, and others. Here you’ll find many charming handmade souvenirs for your loved ones (or for yourself!) and learn about folk culture in-depth.

Currently, the festival is the largest Polish jazz festival and one of the largest in Europe. This festival is definitely a must-attend event for jazz lovers and for all those who appreciate good music in a beautiful environment. Apart from the Polish element of excellence, many foreign jazzmen also appear on the stages.

This is the only outdoor classical music event of such scale in Kraków and one of the few (or even THE one) taking place in the picturesque scenery of Wawel Royal Castle and its Arcaded and Bathory courtyards. The headlining themes of the 16th festival comprise different musical styles: classical music, the works of composers of the second half of the 20th century, folk music, film music, various performers and more!
The concert venues – Wawel Castle’s illuminated Arcaded and Báthory Courtyards – also play a key role in the artistic spectacle. The changing lights and colors render the sound not only audible, but also scintillatingly visible.

Art & Food Bazaar is a very beloved cyclical, monthly event bringing together artists, designers–local and otherwise–and cooks, both professional and amateur. The summer film festival Letnie Tanie Kinobranie is a great opportunity to catch up and revisit favourite movies. The programme consists of both hits from past seasons as well as cult classics. The title of this year’s edition of the event is ALL THE COLOURS OF THE CINEMA. The screenings of this year’s festival will take place at Kino Pod Baranami and Małopolska Garden of Arts. Additional screenings will take place outdoors, in the atmospheric garden of the Manggha Museum. Selected Polish and foreign films are presented with English subtitles.

Over the years, Capella Cracoviensis became an independent entity performing various compositions, ranging from Medieval music to world premieres of contemporary pieces. This year’s theme is Mass. How did it change from Lassus to Mozart? How did the outstanding representatives of subsequent generations of composers perceive it: Monteverdi, Biber, Bach?

During the Philharmonic Music Summer, chamber music reigns in unusual performance compositions: for four clarinets, for four bassoons, for trombones and tuba, for a drum duet…In August you’ll be able to enjoy wonderful music among the hospitable palm trees of the Botanical Garden. Just a perfect combination of musical impressions with a walk in this uniquely scenic garden.

At this exhibition in the Szołayski House, you will trace the history of Polish design from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries to the present: from graphic design, through fashion, to furniture – a total of 350 exhibits! The exhibition opens with works from the Polish Applied Art Society and Krakow workshops, as well as examples of the Zakopane style. In the part devoted to the second Polish Republic we will find forms of artistic expression in the spirit of modernism and avant-garde. The largest room presents fashion, and a separate room is dedicated to the Polish poster of the 20th century. There will also be features from the time of the Communist Party of Poland, and the whole is crowned by projects from the period after 1989 – from those created for the needs of public space to Polish computer games.

The most beautiful works of classical and sacred music – including arrangements for choir, solo voices, Renaissance lute, theorbo and violin as well as masterpieces of organ music will be performed for you throughout the summer. All of this in the unique interiors of the historic St. Joseph Church at the Podgórski Square. This year’s edition of Podgórze Summer Concerts will be organized from the 9th of July until the 27th of August every Sunday at 16.00. The entrance for all the concerts is free of charge.
