Italy is one of the countries with the most diversified production of dairy products, particularly cheese and cheese products. Each of these cheeses has its own typical taste and there is no substitute.
Formaticum is an event dedicated exclusively to cheese and its producers. It will be two days full of flavours and exhibitions, where producers will be divided according to the milk from which they produce their products and so that all Italian regions are represented. In addition to the opportunity to taste and buy cheese, there will also be the chance to attend meetings, seminars and debates on very interesting topics.
Now in its third edition, Formaticum is a market fair of rare Italian dairy products, born of the partnership between La Pecora Nera Editore, a food and wine publishing house operating in Lazio, Lombardy and Piedmont, and Vincenzo Mancino, owner of DOL – a company of Lazio origin.
The first two editions were a success, with around 3,000 visitors who were able to taste and buy delicacies from all over Italy, illustrated directly by the producers. This is the great added value of an event of this kind, as no-one like them can explain their niche production, far from the standardisation of what we see on supermarket shelves.
The event will take place in the Wegil in Trastevere, a splendid structure that has been renovated by the Lazio Region, on Saturday, May 14 from 11.00am to 8.00pm and on Sunday, May 15 from 10.00am to 7.00pm. The entrance fee for each day is 5€.
