Theatre show for children “The Selfish Giant”

06.11.2021 - 11.12.2021

Saturday, 13 November 2021, at 16.00, at the theatre Anfitrione Via di San Saba 24 (Aventino area) the show for children “the selfish giant” will be staged.

The show is based on the immortal fairy tale by Oscar Wilde: it is the story of a giant who does not want children to play in his garden because he is selfish and would like to keep all the beautiful things for himself. He builds a wall behind which is his magnificent garden full of trees and flowers, and the children are forced to play in the street among the cars and the smog. Months go by and he sees his neighbors’ gardens blossom, spring arrives and in his own, there is only cold and winter. So he realizes that only by breaking down the wall and letting the children play in his garden would spring come.

So the giant and the children destroy it and will always play in the garden….the giant turns from selfish to good.

The show is staged in a lively setting with engaging colours and music. It also offers the children spectators the opportunity to interact verbally during certain scenes of the performance.

The show is by the theatre company Bolle Spaziali
with Tina Angrisani, Jano Di Gennaro and Alessia Sorvillo.
