Hanami all’Orto Botanico returns to the capital in April. Here you will be able to admire the unusual beauty of Japanese cherry trees and visit the Museo Romano with a guide. In addition, an interesting programme is prepared for you over two days.

Hanami all’Orto Botanico di Roma will be celebrated on April 9 and 10, 2022. The event is organised under the patronage of the Japanese Cultural Institute in Rome, the Italy Japan Foundation and with the collaboration of Festival del Verde e del Paesaggio, Nippon Bonsai Sakka Kyookai Europe, Centro Urasenke, Centro diffusione Origami, Ikebana Ohara A.L.U. Study Group, CAMS – Orto Botanico di Perugia, Studio Arti Floreali.

For this reason “Hanami at the Botanical Garden” offers, on the two days, April 9 and 10, three-part guided tours of the Japanese garden, meetings dedicated to the compositional style of the Japanese garden, a tea ceremony organised by the Urasenke Centre, and special exhibitions, exhibition routes through the Botanical Garden through the lens of Hanami and in the spirit of this event, a “nippon market” with plants, bonsai and kokedama, kimonos and sweets organised by the Festival del Verde e del Paesaggio, and origami workshops for children organised by the Origami Diffusion Centre.

In a free itinerary, marked by exhibitions, guided tours, meetings, workshops, it accompanies its public in the discovery of one of the concepts that most deeply crosses Japanese thought, that of the “impermanence” of existence.
