On Saturday, November 8, 2025, the Marczibányi Cultural Centre will once again fill with stories, music, and the spirit of Christmas, as it welcomes visitors all day to the Lampion Story Festival & Book Fair. This family-friendly event is a celebration for both children and adults, where storytelling, creativity, and the joy of reading come together in one magical day.
The festival offers interactive theatre performances, concerts, storytelling sessions, and festive games, while visitors can browse the large Christmas book fair with discounts from 10% to 90% throughout the day. The joint fair of Lampion Books, Animus Books, and BookLab Publishers ensures that every generation can find something to love.
🎭 Main Stage (Theatre Hall)

10:30–11:00 Christmas Tale Performance with Mária Bajzáth
11:00–11:30 Kuncogik — interactive story concert combining music, laughter, and imagination
11:30–12:15 Storytelling Teacher & Librarian Awards – in collaboration with nlc.hu and Népmesekincstár
14:30–15:15 Christmas in Lengevár — interactive play with Judit Berg and Csenge Kövesi
15:30–16:30 Christmas Concert by Vilmos Gryllus
16:45–17:15 The Magical Map — musical storytelling book launch by Nonó Gőbel & Jutta Török
17:30–18:00 Christmas Around the World — quiz game with guaranteed prizes (by Quizland)
18:15–19:45 Lucy Fleming’s Fairy Theatre: Lottie the Oak Fairy & Ella the Light Fairy, translated by Anna Szabó T., starring Júlia Huzella
Authors and illustrators will be available for book signings after the programs.
