One of the most magnificent qualities of music is its potential to transport the listener to other places. It may sound trite, but the fact is that it is an exceptionally difficult art. Few have mastered this difficult art better than Nils Frahm. Perhaps that is precisely why this German neoclassical composer has succeeded in reaching an audience far beyond the typical horizon of the genre. Nils Frahm knows where he wants to go, what mood he wants to create, and by making the instruments his voice, he gently guides the listener to that specific place. The music is minimalist, ambient and repetitive, but Frahm’s fantastic sense of melody runs like a red thread through the compositions.
Now we can announce that Nils Frahm, with the new piano-based album Day in the back, returns to Swedish soil for two concerts this fall. It will be cinematic, evocative and precise as Frahm transports the audience to another place. On October 9, this will take place at Kulturens hus in Luleå and on October 10 at Fållan in Stockholm.
