Multi-award-winning singer-songwriter Amanda Ginsburg is back with her third album! On “Tur att jag kan skratta” she once again invites the listener to her well-rounded and swinging melodic jazz in Swedish, but the listener can also sense a tart self-distance in the midst of the warm and everyday observations.
Together with her partner in crime Filip Ekestubbe (piano) and Danish musicians Snorre Kirk (drums) and Anders Fjeldsted (double bass), Amanda offers the audience warmth, a little sadness and a lot of humor. – “Laughing is one of the most disarming things there is. I hope we will laugh together!
Amanda Ginsburg has taken a wide audience by storm with her music. Her debut album “I’ve been thinking about something” was released in 2018. The following year she won a Grammy, and in the fall of 2020 came the second album “I det lilla händer det mesta”, which gave her another Grammy in the Jazz of the Year category.
Amanda manages the legacy of some of Sweden’s most beloved Swedish singers and songwriters – Olle Adolphson, Monica Zetterlund and Beppe Wolgers – while with her unmistakable voice and quiet swing she creates melodies that stay, and takes the listener on unexplored musical paths. Since her breakthrough, Amanda Ginsburg has appeared in Allsång på Skansen, SVT’s National Day celebrations, Nyhetsmorgon, Doobidoo and På Spåret. She has also received several awards and scholarships, including the Swedish Composers’ and Lyricists’ Jazz Prize, the latter with the motivation:
“There is an echo of our legendary jazz singers in her music. She has the ability to create new and particularly charming songs that are inspired by their history, but which speak with a completely unique voice.”
