Another year, another car meet for fans of everything automobile related — whether it’s your prized vintage model, new sports car or even a moped! Celebrate the festivities with hundreds of like minded people, admiring the vehicles on display, or if you have your own prized beauty to show off, you can exhibit your car/motorcycles/mopeds in all their glory within the Solvalla exhibition arena. See if your car has what it takes to place as part of the “Top 10.” Come along on 3rd August, where you will witness the glory of various car brands and models.
Here’s one for all our photography enthusiasts. Do you have a camera that is only collecting dust? Then grab it and sign up for the one and only Photo Marathon. Everybody can become a photographer, especially during this event, where creativity and passion shine! Do you have what it takes to win the grand prize with the best photos of Stockholm? It sort of runs like a race, with four themed categories, outlining different areas in the city and check-points. Welcome in the event running from 17–18 August.
If running and keeping fit are your happy activities, the Stockholm Trail event is for you. Plus, you don’t need to be a professional trail runner or athlete to compete either! Offering six different courses, these are set within the terrains of Nackareservatet nature reserve, just outside the urban city. Bring your family and friends for moral support, and enjoy participating in a healthy activity – with various track sections available (21km, 10km, 5km, 5km Fun Run, 2.5km Kids and Minitrail), find the one perfect for you. The event starts on 31st August and requires a sign up beforehand.
Art, music, dance, circus performances, theatre, concerts, workshops, food and even sports … What more could you ask for? This annual cultural festival has been a running since 2005. It’s set up between six areas of Stockholm, including Sergel Square, Gustav Adolf Square (the main stage), Kungsträdgården, Norrbro (the main foodie area), Strömgatan and Skeppsbron (where the second largest stage is located). And guess what? It’s FREE! It takes place from 14–18 August.
Just like last year, this year’s photo exhibition at Planket is here! Set up along Lilla Mejtens gränd street in an outdoor setting, the annual photography showcasing features over 200 photographers and takes place over two days (Saturday and Sunday). Bring your friends, family or anyone who loves the art of photos and marvel for free at the talent of various individuals whose photos will be exhibited.
The Techno Boat – The Last Summer Dream. Forget about ordinary dance parties. This August while the weather is still warm, cruise between the Skeppsbrokajen waterfront … on a boat … doubling as one epic dance party! Cue the DJs, bass and all of the fun — and this is the last event of the season, so don’t miss out! The line-up includes Valerio Sinatra from Italy, with more to follow, and you best believe there’s an afterparty, so the dancing carries on way into the night! Boarding is at 8 PM, and the boat leaves at 8.30 PM, returning at 1 AM where the post-party follows.
Combining the pleasures of “eat, drink, dance, listen,” this three-day extravaganza is back for its fourth year, hosted by Hosoi Music Lounge! Converting hidden alleyways, parking lots, construction sites and historic city buildings within the Slakthusområdet area, the entrance to this urban celebration is at Rökerigatan 20. Artists of all genres and fields are here to entertain, including the likes of Baby’s Beserk, Holy Tongue, John Moods, Lipelis, Budini, Gigi Masin & Greg Foat, Maajo, Towlie & Ation Rop, Marcos Valle, Marina Herlop, Nusantara Beat and Ml Buch. The three-day event happens this year from 9–11 August.
The end of August means summer is drawing to a close, BUT this is also all the more reason to take advantage of the last of the vacationing season! What better to enjoy, relax and unwind than participating (or rather, drinking) in a beer festival? For all craft beer-loving people and connoisseurs, Barrels Burgers & Beer City have prepared a delicious experience: 14 craft breweries, food (their smashburgers are rumoured to be the best in town), live DJs and good company — that’s all you need, right?!
Fools Gold is more the “underground” bands and artists signed to record labels, but this year also opens up for artists not yet signed. Fools Gold Festival invites you for a free musical experience in the beautiful Tantolunden park. Running since 2018, this is a collection of independent music talents-meets-record market-meets-community gathering. Come and hang and maybe grab a picnic blanket (and snacks) to relax before autumn starts.
