It’s been 30 years since the release of their debut album “Wilki”. On this occasion, the legendary band embarks on a nationwide tour during which we will hear the greatest hits of the group in acoustic arrangements. Join the pack and take part in a musical feast spiced with the most beautiful ballads of Polish rock!
It was 1992 and everyone in Poland was singing songs from WILKI’s debut album: “Son of The Blue Sky”, “Aborygen” or “Eli Lama Sabachtani”. The album immediately became a bestseller and achieved the status of a platinum album. Finding great success, the band embarked on a tour that lasted almost three years without a break. Such an intensive rock and roll lifestyle and fatigue caused by the harsh pace the musicians imposed on themselves influenced the decision to suspend the band, which lasted several years.
In 2002, the band returned with a new album “4”, sold 100,000 copies and achieved another success. Songs such as “Baska” and “Urke” topped the charts. The next two studio albums released by the band reached Gold status and were packed with hits such as “Bohema”, “Love Story”, “Słońce pokonał cień”, “Here I am”,and “Forever and ever”.
In 2016, WILKI released their eighth album, “By the Girls,” promoted by a song of the same title. It is the most cheerful and rock’n’roll album in their discography. In terms of atmosphere, the album comes close to the biggest hits from the album “4”. An undeniable influence on the creativity of the album was the addition of a new member to the group: the son of the frontman, Benjamin Gawlinski, who plays acoustic guitar and keyboards.
In 2017, WILKI celebrated the 25th anniversary of the release of their debut album, and on May 11, exactly 26 years after the debut, the double album “26/26” was released. It contains 25 greatest hits and one new song, “On the Edge of Life,” which promoted the album.
In 2020, the band went on a “Blue Tour” through major cities in Poland, where we heard the 1992 debut album “Wilki” in its entirety. The tour proved to be a huge success and the band proved that despite the passing years, they are still in great shape.
