On November 20, 2026, a special international exhibition will open at the Bálna: “TREASURES OF EGYPT” is coming to Budapest, inviting visitors on a spectacular journey through time into the mysterious world of pharaohs, pyramids, mummies, and hieroglyphs!
This experiential exhibition brings to life one of humanity’s most fascinating civilizations through nearly 100 detailed reconstructions and reproductions, monumental displays, themed spaces, and narratives.
Visitors can learn about the Egyptian gods, the secrets of hieroglyphs, the rite of mummification, and the ancient Egyptians’ conceptions of the afterlife. The exhibition evokes the atmosphere of the Temple of Luxor and the Avenue of the Sphinxes, introduces the world of the pyramids and burial chambers, and traces the story that led from the discovery of the Rosetta Stone to Jean-François Champollion and the decipherment of hieroglyphs.
