Great Budapest Beer Festival

If you’re looking for a relaxed event in Budapest combining music and great food this October, head to Kopaszi-gát! From October 21–25, the opening weekend of the Great Budapest Beer Festival brings a Bavarian beer-garden atmosphere, live concerts, DJ sets, and classic festival food. Best of all, admission is free!

Beer lovers can look forward to well-known brands such as Erdinger, Augustiner, Paulaner, and Spaten, as well as international specialties, including Tsingtao and Golser beers. There will also be a selection of non-alcoholic options.

The drinks will be accompanied by delicious Bavarian specialties, including Nuremberg sausages with Bavarian cabbage, Leberkäse, and crispy pretzels. If you prefer classic festival food, you can also find burgers, lángos (Hungarian fried flatbread), chimney cakes, doughnuts, and roasted chestnuts at the food stalls. The organizers also promise a selection of gluten-free food.

The festival also promises a great family day out, with children’s activities and funfair attractions available during the day. The advertised attractions include a Ferris wheel, bumper cars, and a special carousel. A heated tent will be available for cooler autumn weather, so visitors can still enjoy food, drinks, and time together even if temperatures drop.
