From October 21 to 25, 2026, the Deutsche Kinemathek invites you to Berlin for the international “Film Restored” festival. Centered on this year’s theme, “Risky Business,” the 11th edition of this film heritage festival focuses on newly restored classics, cinematic rediscoveries, and the challenges—both historical and contemporary—faced by films and filmmakers.
The festival highlights bold productions that broke social taboos, as well as works created under conditions of repression, persecution, or exile. The lineup features contributions from twenty countries, international guests, and films spanning the years 1927 to 2010.
Expect not only film screenings but also workshops, discussions, and live music.
