Rainhard Fendrich 2022

Rainhard Fendrich’s new album “Starkregen” (release date: 20.09.19) is dedicated to the phenomena of our present with an inimitable gift for observation and puts his finger, sometimes gently, sometimes with force, into many an open wound. Heavy rain – actually a meteorological term – becomes a symbol for interpersonal climate change and the associated consequences. Who, if not Rainhard Fendrich, who can now look back on a music career of almost 40 years, would be better suited to capture this change in words and sound? The album contains 13 titles – characterised by content and attitude. Rainhard Fendrich has by no means lost his humorous streak to the spirit of the times. And so the title “Starkregen” is not least inspired by Fendrich’s digital encounter with an over-motivated translation programme (Rainhard became “Starkregen”).

From May 2020, Rainhard Fendrich and his outstanding band will be on tour in German-speaking countries – with his new album Starkregen and well-known songs from 40 years of an exceptional career.
