The children’s opera “The Christmas Witch” is a magical piece of musical theater for children aged 5 and over and their parents. The story tells of a Christmas witch who sets off on a journey to find the Christ Child. On her way, she meets various characters and helps people, teaching the children that kindness and friendliness are great values.
The play is playful, cheerful and visually appealing, accompanied by lively music that supports the fairytale atmosphere. Although the play is in German, the plot is simple and easy to understand so that children can easily follow the story. The performance lasts about 60 minutes without an intermission, making it ideal for younger children as well.
The performance takes place in the crypt of St. Peter’s Church in Vienna, a cozy and intimate space, regardless of the weather.
Tickets can be purchased online, with prices starting at around €25. It is recommended to arrive 10-15 minutes before the start to secure a good spot and allow the children to experience the event up close. The event offers a wonderful opportunity for a pre-Christmas family experience full of music, fairy tales and festive cheer.
