On Saturday, 26 August 2023 from 12:00 – 16:00, the Japanese Embassy and the Japanese Society in Austria cordially invite you to the joint Japanese Summer Festival at the Japanese International School in Vienna. Visitors can expect a colourful stage programme with musical performances on taiko and shinobue, as well as dance, kendo and iaido demonstrations. There will be the opportunity to fold origami, try calligraphy, learn the basics of Go, take part in a tea ceremony, do handicrafts and try out various Japanese games. As befits a “Natsumatsuri”, Japanese food and drinks will also be offered and bon-odori will be danced together.
The event will take place outdoors. In case of bad weather, the festival will be held in the school building. Admission is free.
