SCIENCE FICTION IN THE PARK – Margaretner Filmnächte 2023! SCIENCE FICTION IM PARK – MARGARETNER FILMNÄCHTE has been the first and only science fiction open air in Vienna since 2007, with a large and loyal fan base. Created in 2007 by Wolfgang Niederwieser and the “ArchitekturRaum 5”, SCIENCE FICTION IM PARK has been organised and realised by the VOLXkino association since 2019. “Science Fiction in the Park – Margaretner Filmnächte” presents films from the science fiction genre that dare to look into the future from your time over 6 days. This gives us the exciting opportunity to attempt a comparison with reality. In many older science fiction films, the future comes across as gloomy, but – from today’s perspective – sometimes also unintentionally funny. Under the title IN THE YEAR …, we will spend six evenings looking into the future, some of which has already passed, and into a future that is still far ahead of us.
