What is required for a music scene to take place, and what role do places play in the emergence of subcultures? Where do people create, rehearse, play, party, meet and become a common scene? And what happens when these places disappear, when concert venues cannot afford the rent, when study associations are cut back and rehearsal rooms close down? Do subcultures die without venues?
