Japanese Autumn Festival

Welcome to the Japanese autumn festival, aki-matsuri, at the East Asian Museum!

Price: No charge. Taste Japanese tea and cookies 50 kr.

Further information: To buy an annual pass, follow the link below. If you do not have an annual pass, you need a day ticket to visit the exhibitions. The day ticket can be purchased at the museum.

The festival includes traditional peasant dancing, taiko drums, water balloon fishing, a Japanese flea market and the sale of Japanese vegetables outside the museum. Inside the museum you can try your hand at Japanese calligraphy and origami.

For the hungry, there are Japanese cakes, matcha tea and bento boxes.

Skeppsholmsdagen – Open island, open house
Skeppsholmen welcomes you to an open house – visit the island’s activities that organize a variety of festivities during a common full day! Discover the museums and go behind the scenes: meet the artists, the works or have the opportunity to create your own art. During the day, you will have the opportunity to get to know the island’s architecture and history through tailor-made walks, enjoy music and autumnal flavors, and not least several activities for children of all ages. All on a creative island in the heart of the city!
