Emmalisa Hallander at Fasching

In the space of a year, young jazz singer Emmalisa Hallander has graduated from the Royal College of Music, toured with Peter Asplund, sung as a soloist with the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, received scholarships from the Royal Academy of Music and STIM. Musikaliska Akademien and STIM, made a name for himself among Stockholm’s jazz elite and, not least, released his debut album.

The debut album “Have a Look Inside” was released in March on the Gothenburg-based label Varva Records and consists mainly of self-written compositions. Now Emmalisa Hallander makes her debut at Fasching in her own name! The evening will offer a mix of Emmalisa’s favorites from the American songbook and self-written songs. With her, she has a piano troupe consisting of Filip Ekestubbe, Niklas Fernqvist and Henrik Jäderberg.

Emmalisa has been described as natural and brilliant on stage. She has been praised for her lyrics, compositions and scat-singing ability, and important names on the jazz scene have compared her to the legendary Anita O’Day. In addition to playing with her own band, Emmalisa is already a frequent soloist and has shared the stage with Peter Asplund, Elise Einarsdotter, Jacob Christoffersen, Leo Lindberg, Fredrik Ljungkvist and Martin Sjöstedt, among others.
