Fourteen craftsmen, six materials, four floors. The knowledge and traditions of the past meet contemporary definitions, techniques and artistic interpretations of what crafts are, can be and can become. Welcome to the exhibition Wide View of Crafts!
During our Craft Days, which take place on weekends between September 2-17, the exhibition Wide View of Crafts will be shown in the Bredablick observation tower from 1876 – Skansen’s first and otherwise closed building. Here we explore materials, knowledge and artistic expressions and experience what happens when different crafts and artistry meet.
With professionalism in focus, we meet fourteen relevant contemporary craftsmen and their individual ways of carrying the craft tradition into the future. Several of the participating artisans will be on hand to tell us more about their work and processes.
Bred blick på hantverk is made in collaboration with Hantverkarna Stockholm. The curator is Stefan “Trendstefan” Nilsson.
