This fall, it’s time for this year’s Hantverksdagar – during the weekends of September 2-17, we dive into past and present crafts! This year we are collaborating with the association Hantverkarna Stockholm, which represents craftsmen from a variety of categories.
Every autumn we organize Hantverksdagar to highlight the craft tradition and its handed-down knowledge as part of a traditional and surviving intangible cultural heritage. This year you can look forward to meeting professional craftsmen, learning about building conservation and trying out different craft activities. The historical building Bredablick will host the exhibition Bred blick på hantverk (Wide View of Crafts), which highlights contemporary crafts, and there will be guided tours around Skansen.
There is everything from tattoo artists and beer brewers to boat builders, axe makers, sculptors and doll makers, as well as Skansen’s own craftsmen working in the museum’s historic workshops.
