Few Swedish bands have been as distinctive to their time as Popsicle. In 1992, the band paved the way for the Swedish indie scene with their debut album ‘Lacquer’, for which they later won a Grammy in the Rock of the Year category.
The Norrland band followed this up with the albums ‘Abstinence’, ‘Popsicle’ and ‘Stand Up And Testify’. The band split in the late 90s, but chose to reunite in 2018. Popsicle’s third, self-titled album was their biggest commercial success. In songs like ‘American Poet’, ‘Please Don’t Ask’ and ‘Third Opinion’, the band showed a greater range than before, and ‘Not Forever’ was their biggest hit.
The album “Popsicle” has never before been performed in its carefully arranged entirety, but now it’s finally time!
You can see indie legends Popsicle on August 19 on the main stage at Gustav Adolfs torg.
