Stockholm City Session x Kulturhuset
Friday, March 17 20:00 – 01:00
295 SEK
Live: Miynt, Noomi, Raghd, You Thant, Yaeger
DJ: Mohammed Hindi
The summer festival Vinterviken Sunset Session takes over Kulturhuset’s stages and for one day becomes Stockholm City Session. By taking Vinterviken to the City, distorting it and moving from the cute idyll to the vibrant city center, we get City Session. A new live concept filled with music where we find a genre mix of hyper-current up & coming artists in pop, rock, hip-hop and R&B.
Miynt
After uploading a few tracks of homemade videos online in 2015, she was overnight courted by several American record labels. Since then, her music has attracted the attention of several major international media outlets but has also been regularly used in major film and TV productions. With her peculiar blend of shoegaze, Swedish melancholy and psychedelic indie, she has established herself as one of the most interesting names on the Swedish indie scene, as evidenced by a nomination on P3-Gold.
Noomi
Noomi’s music transports you to imaginary places. With melodies and textures that
seem to come from another world, she carves her own framework for how reality can feel.
The atmosphere is a mix of ambient, electronic pop with dark metallic beats, which together with Noomi’s ornamental voice takes you on a dramatic trip.
Raghd
Raghd is a 22-year-old singer, rapper and producer from Gothenburg, Sweden, who has attracted increasing attention in recent years with her confident and sassy music, often written from a vulnerable and personal place. Humor is an important component of Raghd’s music, especially in relation to word choice and sentence structure. The sound strives to be new and honest, not least in relation to the Swedish contemporary scene.
Yaeger
The charismatic artist and songwriter from the archipelago has spent the last few years prolifically writing and experimenting with finding her sound. The 24-year-old has recently moved to London and has had a bunch of impressive collaborations and great recognition both nationally and internationally. With her latest single “Water Pistol”, which has been hot on P3, she breaks new ground with her sound, which she defines as “emotional rave pop”.
You Thant
You Thant are as comfortable with side-chained synths, drum machines and field recording experiments as they are with distorted guitars, bass and drum kits in a loud rehearsal room. Their cross-genre approach should not be seen as a formula, but is instead a result of the quintet’s search for something new and exciting.
