Kool And The Gang on Stockholm Pride

This year´s Stockholm Pride will have lots of amazing partners. One of them being the amazing band Kool And The Gang! And so why make differences in sexuality when all can gather around and connect via their music?

Kool and the Gang is an american R&B/funk band founded in 1964. Though originally named Jazziacs, their love and talent was mostly shown in funk and disco genres.

Their fourth album – Wild and Peaceful – released in 1973 and marked a new successful stage of the band´s lives. The album contained top-ten singles like “Jungle Boogie” and “Hollywood Swinging”. This was also the beginning of their highest selling albums like Ladies´ Night, Celebrate! and Emergency, which sold 2 millions copies just in the US.

New stage came upon the band after winning several awards, most notably 2 Grammy Awards, 7 American Music Awards. The band has been also introduced into the New Jersey´s Hall of Fame and was given Mobo Awards for Outstanding Achievement.

Their discography to this day consists of 23 albums and almost 70 singles. Though in US, they sold 7,5 million and 4,5 million certified album and singles, on worldwide scale, they´ve sold over 70 million albums.
