A unique project mapping the musical career of the unforgettable singer Iveta Bartosova in Žilina on 25 March.
Iveta Bartošová was known for her powerful voice and significant influence on the Czech music scene in the 1980s and 1990s. Among her biggest hits are songs such as Knoflíky lásky, Tři oříšky, Léto, Víš, lásko, Hej, pane diskžokej, Málo mě zná. Throughout her career, she became one of the most popular figures in Czech popular music.
Unfortunately, her life was marked by personal struggles, including battles with mental health issues, addiction, and tumultuous relationships. Iveta Bartosova tragically passed away in 2014, shocking many of her fans and the Czech public. Despite her personal struggles, she remains a cultural icon in the Czech Republic who is remembered for her contribution to the country’s music scene.
Fredy Bittner’s band, which was also the last band to play with Iveta Bartosova, decided to collaborate with singer Šárka Vaňková on this rare occasion.”This is not a revival, nor is it meant to imitate Iveta. We want to bring people joy and a chance to remember the unique hits that have sounded across generations. We want Iveta to come alive in the hearts of her fans. Šárka Vaňková and Freddy Bittner.
Guitarist Fredy Bittner has played not only with Iveta Bartošová, but also with Karel Gott, Lucie Bílá, Lenka Filipová, Věra Martinová, Leona Machálková, Hanka Zagora, Kamil Strihavek, and to this day, he plays with the legend of the Czechoslovak music scene, Petr Spálený.
Šárka Vaňková started her career in 2004 in SuperStar where she placed as a silver finalist. She has released two solo albums, for the first one, I Believe in Chances, she received two platinum awards. She has performed in a number of successful musicals such as Cleopatra, The Three Musketeers, Angelica, Adela Has Not Yet Dined, Baron Dust, Dracula and Robinson Crusoe. In a word, she is an experienced and talented singer.
