This year, you can once again look forward to a unique and original collaboration between two Slovak artistic ensembles. Director and choreographer Ján Ďurovčík brings the spontaneous and lively culture of nomadic Gypsies to the stage in a thrilling music and dance show.
What can you expect?
– An evening full of surprising and breathtaking dance scenes performed by the Slovak Dance Theater
– Virtuoso cimbalom solos by Ernest Šarközi and other members of the Cigánski diabli orchestra
– An evening full of love and desire, freedom and liberty
Ján Ďurovčík’s music and dance show “Gypsies Go to Heaven” is inspired by the legendary story of the Moldovan director Emil Loteanu, who sold out cinemas and won awards at film festivals in the 1970s. The original film is based on Maxim Gorky’s short stories and is set in the northeast of the former Austro-Hungarian monarchy.
