Open Parks and Gardens Weekend

More than 500 gardens in 23 European countries will open their doors from Friday 5 June 2026 to Sunday 7 June 2026 to celebrate together the importance of parks and gardens for our society.

Be part of the international event Open Parks and Gardens Weekend 2025, which aims to showcase the beauty of parks and gardens to the general public while spreading the ideas of their maintenance and conservation. The weekend is open to public and private parks and gardens in Slovakia. In addition to the opportunity to see all the beautiful parks and gardens, you can also participate in this event with your own parks, gardens, orchards, arboretums, botanical gardens, and more.

Italian, French, English-style gardens, landscaped parks, botanical, community, natural and other types of parks and gardens across Europe continue to inspire artists and designers today. The many European parks and gardens open exceptionally for the Rendez-vous aux jardins (Meeting in the Gardens – Weekend of Open Parks and Gardens in Slovakia) offer the opportunity to discover the uniqueness and great richness of the gardens and parks in Europe.

This year, from June 5 to 7, 2026, we invite you to explore the theme “The Eyes of the Garden.” We invite you to look at parks and gardens with fresh eyes. Notice the details, the play of light and shadow, the colors, and the quiet corners that often go unnoticed.

We invite you to perceive parks and gardens not only as places for a stroll, but as a carefully designed visual world. Every view within them is intentionally guided—from grand vistas to minute details. Sight is one of the primary senses through which we perceive the beauty of parks and gardens.

The Open Parks and Gardens Weekend offers you not only the chance to visit exceptional places, but also the opportunity to see them with fresh eyes. Slow down, look more closely, and discover the eyes of the garden with us.
