Knights at Šimák

Will you help the knights to protect Šimák Chateau? Already on May 7 and 8, 2022 at the historic castle in Pezinok you will be transported to history, to the times of the knights! During these two days, an interesting programme and various accompanying activities are prepared for you.

Of course, you can also enjoy other services that Šimák Chateau Pezinok offers – taste fine wines from the medieval cellars directly under the chateau or get to know its history on a guided tour. Come and spend a day full of good fun and history in Pezinok.

At 10.00AM, 12.00PM, 4.00PM and 6.00PM there will be guided tours of the castle (duration 60min/ tours are charged)

WHAT’S IN STORE FOR YOU?
? Historical parade
Each festival day will start with a festive parade of performers. Accompanied by drummers and banners, you will see fearless knights and beautiful ladies in stunning period costumes.

⚔️ Fencing performances
In swordsmanship performances for young and old alike, you’ll see swords, axes, sabres and other cool weapons of history in action.

⏳Captain of Time
You will be transported to the ancient times of chivalry, to the age of heroes. The intrepid captain himself and his retinue will introduce you to the art of combat with various cool weapons of history. And supposedly he can even command time itself… See for yourself in the castle courtyard!
Period army or “To life and death”
Are you interested in how whole armies fought in the past? In this show we will present military tactics of the 15th and 16th centuries, pikeman formations, manoeuvres and special weapons such as the two-handed sword. The programme is full of humour and action-packed mass scenes.

?Historical music
Listen to medieval and renaissance songs as if cut out of a medieval tavern. Don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes!

??Juggling performance
An interactive performance full of humour and fantastic tricks. There will be gymnastics, juggling, acrobatics and balancing.

?Fire show
Fascinating fire images, tricks and eye-catching choreography in motion. Saturday’s programme will end with a fascinating fire show!

ACCOMPANYING ACTIVITIES
?Historical camp
Period tents and colourful flags will fill the castle surroundings. You can see with your own eyes how brave mercenaries lived in the past.

? Historical carousel and children’s games
There will also be fun games and a historic wooden carousel for the youngest visitors.

? Archery
Test your accuracy in archery.

⚔️ Historical weapons
Don’t miss the unique opportunity to see for yourself various historical weapons such as swords, axes, sabres, shields, etc… Have you always wondered how much such knightly armour weighs? At our festival you will find out the answer
